About Me

My background and future goals

Hi, my name is Robin Prager!

I am currently a Dipl.-Ing (eq. to MSc) student in Mechanical Engineering & Management at Vienna University of Technology (TU-Wien), Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering. My focus is currently on entrepreneurship and innovation, manufacturing automation, mechanics, machine elements, multibody system dynamics, fluid dynamics and thermodynamics. In addition, I plan to expand my knowledge through courses in modelling and simulation, machine learning in engineering applications, 3D-CAD design methods and material testing.
Before that, I gratuated at the Higher Technical College (HTL) Hollabrunn , where I specialized in Mechanical Engineering. There I wrote my diploma thesis titled "Microstructure analysis and material testing of feather keys". After this milestone, I joined the Austrian Armed Forces (österreichisches Bundesherr) and served in Hunter Batallion 33 in Zwölfaxing for six months. This period was demanding and exausting, but it was also a time where I learned many valuable life skills, such as resiliance, discipline, endurance, teamwork and camaraderie. I also had the pleasure to serve as the driver for the batallion commander, where I had the opportunity to get the truck and armored vehicle driving licenses.
After finishing my military service in December 2022, I decided to start studying in the regular secend semester (winter semester), so that I could graduate one semesters earlier. Adding to that, I set myself the goal of completing my bachelor's degree in six semester, as TU-Wien is known for it's comparativly long average study duration. And after three challanging but also icredibly interesting and rewarding years, I am proud to say that I completed my bachelor's degree in six semesters and received an Excellent grade (sehr gut) on my bachelor's thesis.

Future Plans

Recently I registered for my Dipl.-Ing in Mechanical Engineering & Management, where I am focusing on the key aspects of present and future mechanical engineering. I am also deepening my knowledge in innovation and business management in order to strengthen my understanding of management and implementation. Furthermore I would like to pursue a doctoral degree, as my long-term goal is to work in Research & Development one day.
